Nyandarua National Polytechnic hosted a week-long cultural celebration that brought together trainees, staff, and esteemed guests in a lively showcase of diversity and talent. The Cultural Week, an annual event, highlighted the rich cultural heritage and unity within the polytechnic community, fostering a sense of pride and inclusivity.

The Nyandarua National Polytechnic is an accredited public TVET institution established in 2006 as an institute of Science and Technology. It was elevated to National Polytechnic status in 2020. 

The first cohort of students was admitted in 2006. Nyandarua National Polytechnic has grown remarkably, and as of September 2024, it proudly serves a diverse community of over 10,000 students across various programs……

On behalf of the polytechnic’s, the trainers, the students council, the wider student body and the entire The Nyandarua National Polytechnic fraternity: I would like to officially welcome the global internet users to The Nyandarua National Polytechnic’s website. It is my hope that the site will open the Polytechnic, to the global world and encourage the staff and the student to use internet as a base for advancing instruction delivery and research.

The first day of the Open Day 2025 was filled with enthusiasm with trainees proudly displaying their skills across various departments. The event was officially opened by the Chief Guest, Hon. Pachomius Wambugu, the Chief Officer in the Ministry of Education, Nyandarua County, who expressed his admiration for the innovation and technology at Nyandarua National Polytechnic. He encouraged trainees to remain determined in their pursuits.Members of the Council present—Mr. Peter Kaume, Mr. James Nyambune, Dr. Damaris Ogama, and Madam Risper Matasi—highlighted that the TVET education offered at Nyandarua National Polytechnic is highly marketable and that the future is full of employability opportunities for trainees.The Council members were impressed to see trainees engaging in value addition to food, particularly in the production of jam and juice. They also encouraged female trainees to enroll in STEM courses and urged those who have completed their KCSE to join TVET institutions, especially Nyandarua National Polytechnic.Prof. Manasseh Odieki, who also attended the Open Day 2025, emphasized that the Institution of Engineering Technologists and Technicians of Kenya (IETK) advocates for engineering technology and professional development while also regulating the engineering technology profession. He urged trainees to pursue certification, as it enhances their credibility, aligns them with industry standards, and improves their career prospects.On the other hand, Madam Mary Ng'ang'a, the Deputy Principal, Planning, Finance, and Administration, representing the Chief Principal, Mr. Felix Mun'gatu, mentiond that Nyandarua National Polytechnic is a hub for nurturing talent. She highlighted examples of successful alumni, including Koppa Gekon, an artist thriving in the music industry, and Dennis Kaniaru Karanja, the current Mr. Jamhuri Kenya, both of whom were trainees at the Polytechnic.
